Blackfin Completes 2023 Offshore Decommissioning Campaign
The Blackfin Group is a recognized leader in the decommissioning of offshore oil and gas platforms. For 2023, Blackfin successfully supported the removal of over 25 oil and gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. From cutting and lift planning, seafastening, transportation analysis and rigging design, Blackfin is the one stop shop for engineering support.
Blackfin Dredging in Full Swing
The Blackfin Group is pleased to announce a series of firsts in its entry into the U.S. dredging market. 2023 began with the completion of a design of a fully truckable, 20 inch cutter section dredger and strategic partnerships with Ahtna Incorporated to support west coast dredging projects and Floatmaster to develop a Water Inject Dredger for the Corp of Engineers. Blackfin has experience with full vessel design, modifications and equipment replacement, as well as project engineering and onsite support.
Blackfin Integrity Management
The Blackfin Group recently worked with a major LNG provider to develop a corporate governing manual for pipeline integrity. Part of the solution included:
- Establishing Inspection and Testing Criteria
- Establishing Regulatory Guidance Register
- Establishing Risk Prevention Measures
- Developing an Inspection plan for pipeline system
Blackfin Power Generation
The Blackfin Group recently designed a 1.8 MW gas turbine skid to support remote operations. Blackfin accomplished:
- Complete Structural Design from ground up.
- CFD studies to determine airflow requirements and optimize air circulation.
- Design new process control systems and upgrading existing PCS/DCS and safety systems.
- Layout and installation drawings of MCC's, Power Distribution transformers, main switchgear and control panels/junction boxes.
- Redesign/retrofit design of control panels and systems for small to mid size capital improvement projects requiring interfacing with existing I/O control systems.
- Design and create assembly drawings for all electrical equipment and subcomponents.
- Selection electrical components suitable for area class and division.
